This piece represents my first dedicated animal anatomy study. While developing a quadruped creature project, I realized I lacked a deeper understanding of animal anatomical structures, which made it difficult to achieve the level of believability and structural clarity I was aiming for. Because of that, I decided to step back and create my first focused canine anatomy study.
The main goal was to better understand skeletal structure, muscle flow, weight distribution, and how primary anatomical landmarks define silhouette readability — essential knowledge for building convincing quadruped creatures.
This exercise significantly improved my understanding of anatomical rhythms, primary forms, and structural relationships, giving me greater control and confidence when designing creature assets moving forward.
